Peart, a 19-year-old defenceman from Grand Rapids, Minnesota, is one of the team's eight defensemen. Last season, all eight defensemen—Sean Behrens of Denver, Brock Faber of Minnesota, Luke Hughes of Michigan, Wyatt Kaiser of Minnesota Duluth, Tyler Kleven of North Dakota, Ian Moore of Harvard, and Jacob Truscott—played collegiate hockey (Michigan).
